Laser welding
The modern way to weld
joke offers mobile and stationary (desktop) laser welding units . Our units are specifically designed for repairing large and small workpieces in mould making and toolmaking. Our portfolio also includes welding tables for desktop units, rotating units for laser welding units, protective goggles and extraction systems, including accessories and workpiece holders.
A laser beam can join metals in different ways. Workpieces can generate welding seams both on the surface as was well as in deeper layers . This can be combined with conventional welding methods and can also braze.
Both materials with a high melting temperature and those with high thermal conductivity can be laser welded . On account of the small molten mass and the short, controllable melting time, in some cases it can even join materials that otherwise cannot be welded. If necessary filler materials are used.
In laser brazing , the brazing solder, a filler material, bonds the two workpieces to be joined. The surface of the brazing seam is smooth and clean. Reworking is no longer needed, because curved transitions to the workpiece are formed. The automotive industry frequently uses laser brazing , for example for processing car roofs and tailgates.
